Abstract

Global demand for clean and sustainable energy continues to increase in response to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. Hydrogen stands out as a potential future energy source due to its environmental benefits and versatility. Indonesia has significant opportunities in the development of renewable energy sources (RES) in the form of solar panel (PV) technology for green hydrogen production. The integration of PV systems with Hydrogen Refueling Stations (HRS) can increase the flexibility and efficiency of energy systems. Using the country's abundant solar resources, this study evaluates the production of green hydrogen for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) through electrolysis. The economic study includes Net Present Cost (NPC), Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), and Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH) value. This research is expected to provide an insight into the techno-economic evaluation of hydrogen production through PV – HRS integration in Indonesia and enhancing the country's energy transition efforts.
