Abstract

The development of modest fashion in Indonesia has been formed as a lifestyle choice that is not just a trend that keeps changing. Therefore, the development of the modest fashion industry is becoming wider in Indonesia. With the numerous market demands relating to developing fashion trends, the modest fashion industry offers various styles as well as the formation of market segmentation that are adjusted to the gender, age, and user’s activity needs. One of the segmentation is modest kids-wear. The segmentation could be an option for Muslim parents who want to teach their daughter to dress closed and politely from an early age according to Islamic values, yet still looking fashionable. However, children are sensitive human beings, they like to play and move actively, certain rules need to be considered in designing clothes for children. This study aims to propose design ideas that are adapted through global trends in children's clothing as well as a reference for the development in the modest fashion industry based on the segmentation of children's clothing. This research is done through a qualitative descriptive approach, which collected and compiled data, analyzing and interpreting visual adaptations related to modest fashion aesthetics to global trend on kids-wear aged 6-12 years.
